Hi,

Thank you for submitting a You Make Change. I’m pleased to say that I have actioned this requested within SUSU, and we will be moving forward with a Community Pantry for students. The SUSU team are working on putting tinned and dried goods in the Veg Out space and in the Plant Pot so students who need them can collect them. You won’t need to go through any processes or ask anyone before taking things, it will be there for everyone to use, and you can take as much or as little as you need. Unfortunately, this is the only update I can provide for now, but we are working to get this up and running as soon as possible.

If you have any ideas of the types of tinned and dried goods you would like to see, please let me know and I will do my best to support the SUSU team to source them. I can be contacted by email at: welfare@soton.ac.uk

A cold update, but to the point, fair enough.
