Helping students stay safe online is very important, and as the university is cracking down on online security, they should also be supporting students in doing the same!

Hi Lottie,
Below is the statement from Dave Key:
We run Microsoft Defender on Windows, Mac, Android and iOS, but only support that on UoS managed devices. We can’t give advice on what is used on personal devices and there isn’t any provision to provide students with security software on their own devices.
I think we should be doing more here and will continue to probe.
I will be having regular meetings with this team, so I will be able to let you know if there is any more of an update throughout the year.
Thank you!
Emily

Hello Lottie,
I have been in contact with Dave Key about anti-virus software and they are going to get back to me with the key contact within iSolutions who could make some type of licensing agreement happen. I will update you in due course.
Thank you for submitting your idea!
Emily
