Lobby campus catering to extend the hours of the Avenue Cafe to 5:30pm, so as to cover those who have lectures that run till 6pm

Complete
You've already managed to change the opening time of the cafe to 8am, but it would be even more helpful if the cafe was open during all lecture times. A 4pm closing time when lectures run until 6pm just makes no sense. Also, this would bring it in line with the library cafe which I believe also opens until 6pm otherwise.

Hi,
I've spoken to the Campus Catering manager and they have informed me that the reason for currently closing at 16:00 is due to previous demand related issues. However, as teaching has been extended until 18:00 they have agreed to run a few trial openings until 18:00 in semester 2 to test demand, I have asked that they ensure students are aware of these trials so that an accurate measurement of demand can be made. As semester 2 is still a few months away I asked if it would be possible to move this trial any sooner and was told that unfortunately the Avenue Cafe is severely understaffed and won't have sufficient numbers to run trials until semester 2.
I hope that this compromise is acceptable! I'm going to close this submission for now, if you have any further questions please feel free to enter another submission or email me directly at president@soton.ac.uk

Hi,
Thank you for your 'You Make Change' submission!
I have let the manager of the Campus Catering team know about this issue and am currently awaiting his response. No matter what campus students are studying on, they should have access to food following their lectures. I will provide an update on this matter as soon as possible!
All the best,
