Hi,
After getting in contact with a range of lettings companies in Southampton, I have been informed that if space is clean, students can broadly move in items early. This does however, leave a gap in where students can stay. As such, I have set up a working group to launch SUSU's 'Big Night In' for the night of June 30th to provide a free and safe space for students to stay over this gap in tenancy. We are currently in the planning phase but I can confirm that this will indeed be launched with marketing and comms about it to be released around the start of June.
I am going to close this submission now as this work has been actioned. If you have any further questions please feel free to make another submission or reach out to me directly via email at president@soton.ac.uk

Hi,
Thank you for your submission!
I am aware that University Halls are open to students during this period as they were last year as well. However, this does present a cost. As such, I have reached out to the largest student rental agencies in Southampton to present the issue and ask that they provide some form of support over this period i.e. offering an additional night stay. I will let you know how this request is received and if anything tangible can be produced.
All the best,
