Rest Space

Complete
Instead of sleeping pods in the library, a rest area would be brilliant.
A quiet room with bean bags and comfy chairs so students can have some time out or a rest break.
A pastal colour scheme, mindful colouring activities, meditation books, plants etc would help students de-stress.
It could be open 24/7 especially during exam times.
The room could not necessarily be in the library and replace a meeting room or lecture theatre that's not used often.
Similar to the small room in the Chaplaincy but easily accessable for all students.
There should be a water fountain and maybe a kettle for students to have a drink (students would bring their own mug and tea bags etc).

Hi, thanks for sending in your idea. I’ll forward this on to the library to look at – I know the University are always looking at study and social spaces around different campuses. We’ve had meetings with the architects creating the feasibility study for the Students’ Union buildings and have specifically included flexible spaces for use by students taking some time out from work, so in the longer-term there should be more spaces like this!
Thanks,
Sam Bailey
