Academic representatives on the union website

Complete

It is currently almost impossible to find out who my academic representatives are from the union's website. As far as I can tell, the only way to do this is to choose 'representatives' from the 'support' tab (not the 'representatives' tab) and select 'education' from the breadcrumb trail, which takes me to a defunct SUSU page that tells me, incorrectly, that I have no course representatives. Alternatively, I can go on a convoluted journey through the previous election results pages to be told, again incorrectly, that in the last election nobody ran for any positions in my department (ECS).

Given the historically low levels of engagement of students with the union, and the fact that nominations for Academic Representatives are currently open, this seems like an substantial oversight. It would be great to have this information clearly visible on the website so that the course representative system is accessible to students.

Hi Caroline,

We’ve been working on a system to get a visible list of the course reps on the website, and I’m happy to say that the first version is currently live at https://www.unionsouthampton.org/education/2016/, and can also be accessed under the representation tab on the website. We’ll keep working on it to make it more user friendly and user specific, but this is an accurate list of current reps.

Yours,

Elliot Grater
