stop printing out receipts if people do not require them.

Complete
Paper receipts are sometime thrown away after people refuse them and this is obviously a waste of paper. Sainsbury's recently implemented a system whereby they ask you for a receipt and if you don't need one it doesn't print one out. As a Union that strives to constantly reduce its environmental impact we should consider following suit.

Hi Anton,
Unfortunately, the financial operating system we use cannot be changed to not print out receipts. It is the law that everyone who pays by card is offered a copy of their merchant receipt, and this software does so by always printing a copy. Our operating system is linked to the whole SUSU Accounts software, and therefore isn’t something that can be changed. We have worked with the Till Company to reduce the number of receipts that are printed, so the only receipts now printed are those that are needed for the taxman, or required by law.
