Adding smart lockers on campus

Hi,
Could we have some smart lockers installed on campus? They would be very helpful if:
1. Lockers can be used for a maximum period of time
2. Emptying the locker late would trigger a fee
3. StudentID card access and connected to a payment card.
I would suggest putting them in the library, Redbrick Area or at the Interchange.
Just having a quick look online, it looks like it's going to cost only a few thousands of pounds, however, they would probably last a lifetime and with very little maintenance. (for instance: https://www.alibaba.com/showroom/smart-locker.html )
Thanks!

Hello Mauro,
Thanks for this You Make Change, and apologies that it has taken so long to reply to. The good news is that in a meeting with the Library earlier this week this came up in our conversation after Library staff spotted smart lockers on a recent visit to UCL. There are a few concerns about the significant intitial cost required to install and manage the smart lockers, but the Library remain open to lockers (smart or dumb) being installed in the near future, alongside some dedicated laptop loan lockers.
Apologies again for this You Make Change taking so long to reply to, but hopefully the above reassures you that work is ongoing. I'm going to mark this as completed for now as things are in progress, but if you have any questions please don't hesitate to get in touch on the contact details below.
Best wishes,

I'm just thinking that the lockers should be at least big enough to hold a standard backpack. Based on my own personal observations, every time I have felt the need to store something on campus, it would always be large and usually a backpack.
