Cluttr currently unresponsive. Decision to promote but not partner.

Actions carried forward:

IC to bring up national food waste at next Southern Unions meeting.

IB, IC and CS to look into providing free breakfasts again as incentive for volunteers.

Previous minutes approved and released.

3. Officer Updates

CS (Nightline Officer)

See attached report.

CT (Housing Officer)

See attached report (which mentions the HMO Licensing Landlord Forum summary, also attached).

Reconsideration of Don’t Rush to Rent and the timing of the Housing Fair (perhaps before Christmas). Maybe a move towards being more proactive and ensuring that informed decisions are made, and anyone intending to rent is referred to the Advice Centre for a consultation.

Discussion about creating a video explaining the upcoming change in fees and how students can claim back their deposit.

EW (Wellbeing Officer)

See attached report.

Plans to hold an awareness raising event re Meningitis.

EW to look into getting awareness raising materials in GP waiting rooms, welcome packs or the rooms of new students, at the welcome talks (speak to VP Education), at the planned SL bunfight (perhaps manned by someone form the charity), on table talkers in the café, beer mats in the Stag’s, in clubs in the city, e.g. back of toilet doors, etc.

4. VP Welfare Updates

SUSU Lettings and Find A Housemate facebook pages have now been made. IC to link the Driveway Sharing page to these, and request marketing to raise awareness.

Website support page drop down menu is in the process of being updated.

University Mental Health Day 7th March

EW – potential for a homesickness stall or talk.

Ideas: confessional-style booth, chill out space, writing workshops with moderator, postcards to send to friends, massages from Student Life, burst the bubble.

Please send any additional ideas to IB and IC.

Housing Fair feedback:

Extremely positive.

Was helpful to have people outside encouraging students to come in.

Housemate meetup – was helpful to have someone there who could introduce to other likeminded people. IC to monitor demand for another event, potentially at other sites.

Potential for a SL Zone collaborative event – all to let IB know who they would want to invite.

Update on the Mental Health Steering Group. All to promote to students once the audit is ready.

All to send ideas/requests for summers You Are More Than to IB.

Mental Health Awareness Week will be covered in summer YAMT.

5. AOB

No AOB.
