Digital Administrative Assistant (Maternity Cover)

This is a fixed term, maternity cover role (for up to 12 months).
The Role
We’re looking for a super-organised, people-friendly administrator to help keep our Digital, Marketing and Business Enterprise teams running smoothly.
You’ll be right at the heart of our digital activity, triaging requests, managing web and marketing tasks, and helping make sure work is prioritised, tracked and delivered on time. You’ll be the go-to person who helps turn ideas and requests into clear actions, while also providing wider admin support that keeps everything ticking along behind the scenes.
If you enjoy variety, like bringing order to busy workloads, and get satisfaction from helping teams do their best work, this role is for you!
About You
You’re organised, proactive and enjoy making things happen.
You’re confident communicating with a wide range of people, happy juggling different tasks, and calm when things get busy. You don’t need to be a digital expert, but you’re curious, keen to learn new systems, and comfortable using that knowledge to help triage queries and solve problems.
You’ll have experience in an admin or coordination role, be comfortable working with digital tools and shared systems, and enjoy being the person who brings clarity, structure and a positive energy to the team.

Membership Assistant (Advice)

The Role
As a Membership Assistant (Advice) at SUSU, you will join a fast-paced, specialist team working collaboratively to deliver our Advice Centre services. You will play a key role in providing an excellent customer experience by managing the reception service, responding to calls and emails from students seeking support, and operating the triage system for incoming enquiries.
The role involves accurately recording student information on Advice Pro, ensuring Advice Centre policies are followed, and overseeing the smooth and efficient administration of the service. You will also contribute to the delivery of campaigns and support the outreach of our mediation service.Please note that this is a part time role of 27.5 hours per week, with the working hours of 10am-4pm Monday-Friday (in line with service delivery).
About You
The successful candidate will have experience of working in a busy customer-facing environment, with strong communication skills and the ability to respond to a high volume of enquiries in a professional and empathetic manner. They will demonstrate excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and confidence in accurately recording and handling sensitive information. Experience of administrative processes, triage systems, or case management databases would be advantageous. The candidate should also be able to work collaboratively as part of a team, use initiative, and show a clear understanding of the importance of confidentiality, policy compliance, and delivering high-quality support services.

Along with the 4 elected Student Trustees and 4 Sabbatical Trustees, our 4 External Trustees form a key part of our governance. You will oversee and support the work of the Chief Executive and Senior Leadership Team at SUSU, ensuring the organisation fulfils its charitable objectives and mission.
