If you are travelling from Southampton then please meet us at 8.45am at the Platform 4 entrance to Southampton Central Station to take the 9.10am train which is a direct train and arrives at Bath Spa at 10.36am.
Cost: We will not be collecting any payment before the trip. Train fares to Bath Spa vary, a day return from Southampton to Bath Spa costs £32.80 or £21.60 with a railcard discount and £38.80 from Winchester. You can buy your train tickets on the day, or online in advance from thetrainline.com
You will need to pay for your return train fare to Bath Spa and for any museums, boat trips etc that you choose to visit in the afternoon. If you know that you would like to go to the Roman Baths, we advise booking a ticket in advance. The tour will be finished by 1pm, please don't book entry before then
If you are travelling from Winchester then please take the 8.38am train from Winchester and change trains at Southampton Central, joining the rest of the group on the platform for the 9.10am train to Bath. (If you are travelling from Winchester, we advise purchasing a return ticket to Southampton and a separate return ticket to Bath Spa, as the ticket options for returning home in the afternoon are limited if you buy the cheapest Off Peak ticket).
We will meet outside Bath Spa Station at 10.45am and enjoy a group tour of Bath in the morning including the famous Royal Crescent. You will then be free to explore further in the afternoon, maybe visiting the famous Roman Baths, Bath Abbey or one of the other museums, taking a boat trip or going shopping before making your way home when you are ready.
You will be free to leave Bath when you are ready, the return train that is direct to Southampton leaves at 35 minutes past each hour. If you catch the 4.35pm train you will arrive back in Southampton at 6.03pm. There are a number of options for returning to Winchester.
Places on this trip are limited so please only book if you intend to join us and do let us know if you find that you cannot come after you book so that someone else can come instead. Thanks.
