HELLO AND WILLKOMEN TO FRINGE AUDITIONS!!!

Our auditions are:

Wednesday 19th February 14:00-18:00 in 34/4013

Thursday 20th February 18:00-22:00 in 34/1020

Friday 21st February 18:00-22:00 in 34/4007

You will be greeted by a member of the prod team to explain the process to you!

Callbacks will be from 11:00 on Sunday 23rd February. A callback list will be posted on the instagram and facebook page so keep an eye out!

You only need to come for a small amount of time on one of these days! You will need to have prepared two contrasting monologues that will be posted on our event on the Facebook group or linked in our Instagram bio - or are linked here (insert google doc link). You DO NOT need to have learnt these monologues by heart, and if you haven't had a chance to prepare, you can do so when you show up and a production member on the desk in B34 will point you in the direction of a room to practise in!

What is the Fringe show?
The Edinburgh Fringe show is a unique show slot in TG. Each year, we tour our Fringe show to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland. We rehearse the show in the period after Easter break, come back to Southampton for a week in summer and then travel up to Scotland to perform for the week (more specifically, 6 shows through the week!). The festival is an incredible opportunity, where you get to experience the heart of theatre across the world (second most ticketed event in the world!!) and get to see some incredible shows at very good prices!! Half of the joy of being in the Fringe show is being able to go and see the wonder that is the Fringe.

Trigger warnings for the show: on stage murder (which we will be choreographing in an abstract way)

The cast are expected to:
- Budget for and fund their own travel, accommodation, cast clothing, food and show tickets in Scotland
- Help advertise the show on their own social media platforms/word of mouth
- Take part and contribute to fundraisers to raise money for the fringe
- Commit to the rehearsal dates outlined in the schedule, most significantly those in the summer holidays - cast and directing team are not allowed to miss any more than three rehearsals (if this occurs, we will have to seriously consider your place in the show)
- Put aside time to film the trailer (on a day which will be voted on by the cast and crew involved)
- For all cast members, tours officer and directors to stay in the same hostel, most likely all sharing a room, which all members are expected to pay a portion of (if there are any issues with this matter, please detail this in the last question on the form)
- You will be responsible for bringing your own costume to fringe and possibly elements of the props and set (this applies to the directing team also)
- To drink responsibly in Scotland and (in this sense) be in good condition every single day to perform the show
- HAVE FUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!

Important information:
- The number that we were advised to budget for last year (to include show tickets, food, travel and accommodation) was £800, which in our experience allowed for us to relax and not be concerned about our spending. Obviously, this is also up to the individual and travel costs change every year.
- While the cast mostly travelled together last year, you are responsible for booking your own travel and for arriving promptly in Scotland at the arranged time.
- There will be rehearsals in exam period, so please look carefully at the rehearsal schedule as most of the cast is called for almost every rehearsal.
- We will be implementing a curfew for everyone to be back at the hostel and getting into bed while in Scotland of 11:00pm (lights off at 11:30pm) - unless you are seeing a show that will finish slightly after this time in which case we can make exceptions.
