Art Society

Creative Industries

Artsoc meets every Wednesday evening from 6.00 - 8.00pm in 54/7033 for 2 hours of art. Each week we do something different; life drawing, painting, tie-dye and more. The committee members organize and run each session and are all happy to help with anything you need. Artsoc aims to bring together people who enjoy art and provide them with a place to explore this interest and socialise with like minded people.

If you have any questions or are thinking of joining, don't hesitate to talk to a member of the committee via email or on facebook..

Pottery Society

Music, Arts & Media

Hello, we're the University of Southampton Pottery Society. We meet every Thursday from 7-9pm at Cantell School (5 mins from Highfield Campus, near Glen Eyre Halls). You're welcome to come along no matter what level of ability you have, or when you last picked up some clay. Our wonderful teacher, Leo Deville, is more than happy to work with you to help you create anything you can imagine and she works with everyone at the beginning of each semester to ensure you know the basics. We're a really popular society which means we are members only due to the high demand. We offer taster sessions where you can come along to try it out at the beginning of each semester which cost 3 per person and must be booked in advance. This is the best time for you to come and try out the society before deciding whether it's for you! Membership for Semester 1 (2017/18) is 20 for the whole semester. There are no hidden fees, membership includes unlimited use of our clay, glazes, and equipment along with the room hire and tuition. This is to be purchased in person at our session - for more information on when that will be, please see our Facebook page/group.We're also a sociable bunch and run different kinds of socials all year round. Costs for our socials are normally quite low and, where possible, the committee take what members want into consideration, too! Last year, we organised a Sprinkles trip, and a Hollywood Bowling night which were brilliant fun! We've got all of this and more planned for this year for you to look forward to!If you want to get in touch, or are interested in joining, contact us via our Facebook page or group which are linked above. You can also find us on Instagram, or you can email us at potsoc@soton.ac.uk if you have any questions. We hope to see you soon!
