The University of Southampton Baseball and Softball Team welcomes both men and women to join and compete in both local and national Baseball and Softball competitions.
A lot of the team joined as total novices so no experience is necessary but you'll pick it up quickly thanks to expert coaching provided as part of the affiliation with the local city teams. Training is every Sunday in the Old Sports Hall followed by a session at Wide Lane on the baseball diamond. All equipment needed to start playing the sport is provided by the society including gloves.
The Mustangs are now also a softball team! Competing in Spring Softball tournaments and Varsity against Portsmouth. It is a mixed sport with no experience required to play.
The team is not just about but sport but also socialising. The team organise weekly socials of a variety of themes and activities so there's always something for someone to join in on.
The Southampton University Swimming Club is a multidimensional club, with competitive and recreational squads catering for swimmers of any ability. We compete in numerous competitions throughout the year and achieve great results in every competition we go to, such as BUCS (British University College Sports) nationals, team championships and Varsity. Once a week all our members come together on a Wednesday evening for our memorable socials, which involve many different fancy dresses and activities. Everyone is welcome and is sure to have an incredible time! Once a year we head on tour to a sunny location (including Tenerife, Salou and Lanzarote) for a week of fun, sun and nightlife (and a little bit of swimming). Please join our Facebook page for further information, or contact SWIMsusc@soton.ac.uk for any queries you may have.
