Baseball and Softball

The University of Southampton Baseball and Softball Team welcomes all to join and compete in both local and national Baseball and Softball competitions.

TASTER SESSIONS

  • Saturday 26th September
  • Sunday 27th September

At the Island Site of the Wide Lane Sports Complex, 1:00–4:00pm. We hope to see you there! (Players of all abilities welcome :D)

TRAINING SESSIONS

  • Monday: 2:00–4:00pm (Returning & Advanced Players)
  • Wednesday: 2:00–4:00pm (Everyone Welcome)
  • Saturday: 1:30–3:30pm (Beginners Sessions)

Monday and Wednesday sessions are at the Island Site of the Wide Lane Sports Ground; Saturday sessions are at Old Sports Hall (42/1001). All equipment is provided by the society, including gloves and bats.

We're a beginner-friendly club — you don't need any experience to join. Many of our members start as total novices and pick it up quickly through our coaching and game time. Each year we enter the University Nationals competitions for both softball and baseball, and play in the BUCS leagues against other universities throughout the year.

Both sports are mixed, and everyone is welcome to compete in either.

The club isn't just about sport, we also host weekly socials with a range of themes and activities every week, so there's always something for everyone to get involved in!

  • The welfare officer is there to ensure the wellbeing of all team members and is the first point of call for team members if they feel unsafe, unhappy or just need a chat. Issues don’t have to be team related.
