DAGsoc aims to promote and share digital art and game development on and off campus. With monthly art challanges, game jams, expo-type events and excursions, we welcome everyone who is interested in not only game development, but all forms of digital art! Everyone is welcome, regardless of what subject they are studying or their experience!

Upcoming Events

Calling all students!
We are excited to bring you this free event happening in early February!
The organisers of the annual Southampton Game Jam, in conjunction with the Digital Arts and Gamedev society, are happy to announce this year's Southampton Game Jam!

The game jam is a non-competitive event in which students, games enthusiasts and industry partners come together to make games within 48 hours. Think free snacks, a great atmosphere, and a space to learn and share!
The game jam will be happening from the evening of the 3rd of February to the afternoon of the 5th, remotely and in B16. Please see the eventbrite page below for detailed timings and details.

You don't have to be an expert to join in, in fact, you don't even have to know how to make a game! We would love for as many of you to join in, no matter your ability! We are inviting students from many disciplines (coders, artists, musicians) to come together to create amazing games that can be used to make new friends, new skills, and works to be put on a portfolio or CV.
You can create any sort of game you like - digital game, boardgame, or card game!

If you want to sign up for the Southampton Game Jam, you can do so here:

If you wish to attend in person, please secure your place below:

Please ensure you sign up for both of the above if you are coming, as lab space is limited and we will be using the eventbrite as a mailing list to send out announcements about the in-person element of the event.

There is also a discord server for anyone that would like to join the community or ask any questions: https://discord.gg/56pnAn2cVa
