Effective Altruism is a philosophical, political and social movement that seeks to answer one main question - How can we do the most good? This is question is both fascinating and complex. It has led effective altruists to consider: How dangerous is AI Technology? Which beings are morally significant? Which charities effectively help people? What are our moral obligations to the global poor? And many others. We are a society affiliated with The Centre for Effective Altruism that is interested in tackling these questions and more. We shall be holding talks from prominent guest speakers; We will hold regular discussions about the ramifications of and questions posed by effective altruism; and hold more general opportunities for like-minded people to meet and socialise
