Hung Leng Kuen Kung Fu is suitable for young, mature, male, female, total beginners and those who have trained before.
Taught by highly trained instructors, Hung Leng Kuen Kung Fu is a style developed by founder and lifetime practitioner, Sijo J.R.
Dutton, from several Martial Art styles, incorporating the traditional animal-based kung fu forms, Shaolin Longfist, Bak Mei, Tai Chi, Chi Kung, Baguazhang and Weaponry. Hung Leng Kuen develops health, focus, strength, flexibility, knowledge, ability, and self confidence for practical, on-the-street self defence and for those who wish to learn a traditional martial art.
All areas of martial arts can be found in Kung Fu, as it is the origin of many eastern martial arts. Striking, kicking, grappling are found across everything we do! We run Traditional Kung Fu classes, Tai Chi classes, and FREE SELF DEFENCE classes all for students. Our FREE Self Defence Sessions are supported by SUSU & Team Southampton in order to provide safety for the students of the University of Southampton.
These are the current membership plans offered by Hung Leng Kuen Kung Fu, although many groups offer a free period for new members to try out their group.
Year Insurance with WFSFF (£30) Covers students to be insured for a whole year against injury and allows them to train safely. Needed to become a member.
Semester Fees (£30) To train one must pay a semester fee of £30 which allows you to come to all training sessions that term. This includes both kung fu sessions, tai chi, sparring, and seminars (self defence is always free).
