Welcome to Soton’s K-Pop Society!
Established in 2020 and officially affiliated in 2021.
Our aim is to have fun and explore the world of K-pop and Korean culture, such as through K-dramas and Korean food etc. We would love to bring together people who have these interests and form new friendships. Whether you’re new or familiar with it all, we gladly encourage you to come along! Finally, we aim to introduce K-pop to more people, the variety of genres and spread our love for it - there’s so much more to it! Hope to see you all soon~
Achievements in our 1st year as an unofficial society 2020:
- 1st Place for the online dance competition "Shall We Dance" UK in 2020 hosted by University of Sunderland (see Instagram page @shall.we.dance.uk)
- 1st Place for the online "Family Feud" quiz 2020 hosted by University of Manchester
Meaning behind our logo:
- Two people forming a heart shows we’re always helping each other hand in hand
- It also represents 2 people dancing
- The star represents each one of us - we’re all stars. Also we won “Shall We Dance” 2020 where the final was filmed in front of the Christmas tree with a star at Guildhall in town
- The colours link with our Southampton Uni logo
