We are a new society for lindy hop at the University of Southampton. Lindy hop is a fun and stylish partner dance with great swing music. Join us and learn cool moves, meet lovely people and enjoy the dance floor
WHAT TYPE OF DANCE DO WE DO?
We teach Lindy Hop which is a social dance that originated in Harlem in the 1920s-40s. It is an improvised, lively coupled dance to Swing music. It is an amazing dance and a wonderful community of people who help you push yourself as you learn new moves and techniques and become comfortable with the joy of social dancing.

WEEKLY LESSONS
Join two amazing teachers every Thursday in The Cube. We have Beginner lessons from 18:30-19:45 and Intermediate lessons from 20:15-21:45 with social dancing between!
Student members receive discounted lesson prices with each lesson costing £5. Lessons are £10 each for non-student members.
You can also buy multi lesson packages which provide even better discounts that are advertised through our social media.
We also do monthly social dances in the Veg out space which are also advertised through our social media.

We also host our own social dances and solo jazz workshops throughout the year and have guest dance teachers giving specialised lessons!

Swing Dance Lesson Pack
Entitles ticket holder to 5x/10x lessons with our two amazing teachers. Lessons takes place in The Cube every Thursday from 6:30pm.

Lindy Chorus Workshop Lesson Pack
Over the next three weeks (30 April - 14 May) we are learning the Lindy Chorus routine! These three sessions will take place at the same time as our usual Thursday lesson (18:30-20:00)
The Lindy Chorus is a partnered swing dance routine choreographed by Frankie Manning. Frankie was an incredible influential figure in the development of Lindy Hop in the 1920s as well as in the resurgence of swing dancing in the 1980s.
