Southampton University Powerlifting welcomes lifters of all levels, whether you're stepping into the world of powerlifting for the first time or bringing a rich background of experience with you. Catering to both newbies and seasoned powerlifters, SUPL caters for everyone.

Under the expert guidance of our club coach — boasting a prestigious background in coaching national teams — members can trust they are receiving top-notch training advice and form checks. While we offer a variety of group program to follow depending on ability, we encourage continue running personal programs if they prefer.

With training sessions offered two times a week, there are many opportunities to try out our IPF approved equipment:

  • Tuesday: 6 pm - 9 pm (Team Southampton Gym, Wide Lane)
  • Friday: 6 pm - 9 pm (Team Southampton Gym, Wide Lane)

Feel the freedom to attend as many or as few sessions as you like, with no pressure to stay for the entire duration. We foster a relaxed environment where you can train at your own pace.

Our members proudly represent the club at various stages, including internal and external competitions that range from casual to competitive. Highlights of our annual calendar include:

  • South Midlands Uni Championship
  • Varsity (IPF affiliated)
  • BUCS
  • A host of more informal internal competitions

Beyond the lifting platform, we hold our bi-weekly socials, featuring both drinking and non-drinking events.
