As a national body, SCM's aims are to: Deepen faith - drawing on our lived experience, theology, scripture and church traditions to learn and grow as Christians. Seek Justice - creating a movement for change that promotes the values of peace, justice and hope. Celebrate diversity - seeking to create an inclusive community where all are welcomed and valued equally regardless of age, disability, denomination, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic background or belief. Create Christian unity - to bring students together from different denominations and traditions to deepen faith, learn from one another and work together for justice. Our primary format is a discussion group, where we explore topics surrounding how we put our faith into action in everyday life. We also have meetings that take other forms such as discussion groups, bible studies, external speakers from Christian Aid (amongst others) and members of the University Chaplaincy coming to give talks. We are keen to organize events with other societies who have a focus on faith, justice, equality or spirituality.
