SuPhil is a welcoming, non auditioning choir. We make up the student section of the Southampton City Philharmonic Choir. The choir has around 210 members with there being around 30 in the student section. We sing classical choral pieces and take part in 2-3 concerts a year.
We rehearse on a Monday evening from 7:30 - 9:30 at Turner Sims on Highfield Campus. Rehearsals are led by a professional conductor.
The mix of the two choirs gives a unique blend of youthful voices with those of more experienced singers. It also offers a once in a lifetime opportunity to perform musical works on a massive scale in an ensemble of over 200 voices, often with a full, professional orchestra.
