Comedy Society
The University of Southampton Comedy Society aims to provide a wide range of comedy entertainment to appreciative audiences. We seek to encourage aspiring young writers, performers, producers and directors to enhance their creative skills in the pursuit of laughter.
For current or former students of the University of Southampton who love performing, writing, directing, producing, or even just laughing. Join us to learn more about sketches, improv and stand-up. Weekly workshops: Stand-up and Sketch with improv - 8pm to 10pm, Wednesdays, 58/1039.

Membership Information
These are the current membership fees offered by Comedy Society, although many clubs and societies offer a free period for new members to try out their activities.

The workshops are held weekly, Wednesdays 8-10pm. You will learn and develop skills writing and performing Stand up, Sketches and Improvisation, as well as play lots of games. Remember there is no pressure to perform, but if you think Comedy is your thing then please come along. | |
| Annual Performer Membership | £15.00 | 09/09/2024 - 31/08/2025 | This membership allows you to attend weekly workshops we hold throughout the year as well as perform at the multiple gig opportunities we offer. These include monthly spots at The Hobbit Pub in Southampton, our shows at the Annex in November and May, as well as performing with the Society at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. If you want to perform Comedy, whether Stand up, sketch or improv, then this is the membership for you. | |
| Semester Two Workshop Membership | £5.00 | 01/01/2025 - 31/08/2025 | This membership allows you to attend all the workshops we hold throughout Semester Two. If you want to give comedy a go for a semester with no pressure to perform, then this is the membership for you. | |

| Supporter Membership | FREE | 13/02/2025 - 31/08/2025 | This membership is free and lets you put your support behind the Comedy Society, if you came to one of our shows, have a friend in the society or just want to support new comedy, then sign up and you will get priority seating at all of our gigs, and more benefits to come. This membership is not for performers, you do not have to get involved in the society in anyway and you certainly do not have to get on stage. This is the perfect membership if you want to support us, or if you want to see what the society is about, if you've been thinking about trying out comedy but aren't sure then this membership is the best first step. |
