VP Inclusion

Toby Page

About Me

Hi! I am Toby (she/they/he) and I am your Vice President of Inclusion for the 2025/2026 academic year.

I studied English Language and Linguistics, and spent much of my time attending and helping run the Creative Writing Society, and helping found and build the Doctor Who Society.

The charity events we ran in our societies, as well as my work as welfare officer, inspired me to run for VP Inclusion.

My focuses this year are:

  • Clear communication & safety focus for students after experiencing abuse/assault
  • Comprehensive training for society & clubs welfare officers
  • Introducing accessibility features to room bookings
  • Advocating for equity, diversity and inclusion within SUSU — including staff, clubs and societies

Among many other things contained in my manifesto.

What do you do as VP Inclusion?

I ensure that the University is inclusive and accessible for all students.

To make sure every student can love their time in Southampton, I am the representative voice for underrepresented groups.

I attend the University and Union meetings regarding equity, diversity and inclusion, and meet with other teams to ensure that inclusion and accessibility are included in all their plans.

Also, I create my own projects and place to address areas where the university could be more equitable.

I communicate with student networks (Student Accessibility Network, Student Parent & Carer Network, etc.) to hear the voice of the student body.

What I’m working on:

  • Student Discipline Communication
  • Improving the path between Highfield & Avenue campuses
  • Room booking accessibility features
  • Welfare training reform
  • Addressing deadnaming in University systems

University meetings I attend:

  • Education & Student Experience Committee (ESEC)
  • Winchester Violence Against Women & Girls
  • Inclusion Action Group
