About Me

Hi! I am Charlie and I am your Vice President of Sports for the 2026/27 academic year. 

During my time at the University of Southampton, I have completed two years of a BSc in International Relations. Alongside my academic studies, I have been actively involved in various clubs and societies, with a particular focus on Men’s Cricket, where I held several leadership roles, including Tour Sec and Club Captain in my second year. Also, I worked closely with the previous VP Sports, Travis through the Sports Executive Committee representing the Outdoor Team Sports for the 25/26 Academic Year.  

What do you do as VP Sports?

• I represent, support and celebrate all 130 sports clubs, including BUCS and Intramural teams. 
• Lead the Union’s Varsity and Team Southampton Awards 
• I encourage active participation and facilitate opportunities within sport to ensure everyone can be physically active. 
• I promote healthy lifestyles and lead awareness campaigns across campus.
• I advocate for all sports facility users and their needs. 

What I’m working on 

• Planning and working with students on the formation of the Ladies IM Football League for the new Academic Year.   
• Increasing student accessibility and inclusion through two new positions on the Sports Executive Committee (Access to Sport Rep and Inclusion in Sport Rep). Offering a direct representative voice for isolated groups within sport.  
• Enhancing the Student experience on important troubles identified in 25/26 for kit and sponsorships through improved initiatives.  
• Improving support for club members through access to mental health forums, diet and sport forums allowing voices to be heard throughout the academic year. 
• Many different projects, working closely with my fellow Sabbs throughout the duration of our terms.
