1. Apologies and Attendance

Dan Varley attended Zone committee.

Kat Carter (Annual Givings Manager) invited and attended to discuss Crowdfunding event.

2. Minutes from last meeting

All approve.

Discussed social media document in which all student groups represented were easily located, and the committees (information on Groups Hub). Hannah to start, Dan to continue and pin document to top of EE Society group page.

Change settings on EE Society group page so that Admin's have to approve posts - will reduce amount of spam.

Action Start creating document for students to locate other societies - will enable collaboration (Hannah Talbot)
3. Matters arising from last meeting

None arising.

4. Officer and student leader reports

HT went through Sabb report as anticipates low attendance at final zone committee.

JF suggests Sabb blogs should be only for policy changes and Union/Zone information. Can Student Leaders have access to blogs to shout about good news stories?

Action Look into possibility of Student Leaders having platform similar to Sabb blogs for good news stories relating to their area (Hannah Talbot)
5. Student led fundraising

Name A Puppy has been written up - RAG to decide shortlist, which will then go to student vote.

Student fundraising total not complete - will advise next time.

6. Student Enterprise activity

Enterprise Fund - confirmed that it would be matchfunded by Ben (President).

BESTI board to be held before 4th May. JF to forward minutes to HT

Student Enterprise Forum ongoing - hopefully after BESTI board. 4 representatives confirmed from around region. JF will pitch events to collaborate and use BESTI board to plan agenda. Will feedback discussions.

Action Keep Zone updated about BESTI board and Regional forum (Jamie Furlong)
7. Volunteering activity

Micro-volunteering - Life-saving spoke to around 40 people.

Need some ideas for micro-volunteering during You Are More Than for staff to run.

8. External Engagement zone general

Collating information about Enterprise and Volunteering to put on SUSU website, as currently none available on the tabs.

Kat Carter explained her position and what the University do with Crowdfunding as a funding opportunity -

- 99% of crowdfunding projects are successful

- It is possible to do a single day event, as LSE have done, but it would be a first time for UoS

- Hubbub provide the platform

- Fees of 1.5% for payment gateways (PayPal), and 1.2% +20p for stripe (debit/credit cards) - no other additional cost

- Preferably want 4-6 projects, with 5 as an ideal number

- Can invite those that are already crowdfunding as well as new-starters to get a mix of projects

- UoS will facilitate tech, consulting on pitch, project, and crowdfunding application

- Suggest we partner with entertainment, perhaps at the Bridge, so that there is an incentive

- Kat can invite Alumni

- JF to take idea to BESTI to plant the seed about opportunity for Autumn

- Kat suggests a pre-event - Information meeting for funding can also promote this event

9. Any other business

Student groups rep clarification: EE officers will choose between themselves who sits on Senate, and Community & Volunteering Officer and Student Enterprise Officer positions will both sit on student groups as they did this year.

10. Next meeting

Next meeting from 6/6 - 10/6, to be advised.
