3. Actions and Decisions Update

AUC - Evan has asked other universities but there doesn't seem to be a definition. It was suggested that we use the Sport England criteria of defined sport. The AU   does not have full representation of all Groups at current. Evan to take to AUC commitee and speak to Democracy about the structure and how it would work in regards to the AUC and Sports Zone.

Addition of Student Groups Rep - No interest from Groups contacted, try again next year.

Extended Bookings - Evan has spoken to Matt. These have all been sorted.

Sport By Laws - The Initiation Policy will be coming in to be looked at.

Policy for Team Colours - 39 clubs have signed up for the next 2 years.

Lettings Agency's - This was discussed at AUC and with the SABB's, there needs to be a review of the whole sponsorship system.

Action Evan to speak to AUC and Democracy about how the structure would work if all sports were integrated into the AUC (Steve Gore)
4. Gym Accessibility

Alex Hovden asked Evan to raise this issue with Matt Plant. Matt suggested that Alex go and speak to him directly and they could discuss needs and how viable it is.

5. Lecture times and the effect of extra-curricular activity

Evan has spoken to University staff and SABBS about timings of lectures on a Wednesday. At the moment it affects players ability to get to matches especially if they are away. It becomes more of an issue in the later years. It was suggested that lectures could be recorded and there were flexible lecture times. Lucy Dowdall discussed the issue with Lab slots and maybe having flexible Lab days. Evan to discuss a policy.

Evan updated everyone on the new kits arrival. It is due to arrive on 6th March. There are over 5000 items to be sorted through, checked and distributed to all the teams. Everyone needs to be in the new kit for Varsity on the 9th March. This will be the official launch of Team Southampton. There are 80 fixtures over 29/30 sports and also the Intermural Cup.

8. Medics Integrating and/or affiliating with AU

At present the Medics Sports teams sit in differant zones. Medics would prefer to affiliate to the AU - in turn expanding the AU.

Action Evan to call a meeting with Medsoc and capatins to discuss a way forward. (Steve Gore)
9. Team photos update

Team photos are booked for the 25th/26th and 27th March. Slots are bookable on a 1st come 1st serve basis. All sports clubs are invited.

10. Disability Sport - PLan

Evan briefly went over the meeting he attended. This was mainly aimed towards physical disabilities and mental health. Main aim to is raise awareness within our existing clubs and form new clubs e.g. Wheelchair basketball. All clubs should have adaptable equipment and Evan is looking at running taster sessions to encourage more participation. Disabled Students should have the same opportunities as able bodied students and sports clubs should accomodate these requests  where possible.

Matt asked the question whether there would be legal implications if a club said NO to a disabled person joining them?

Evan would like some training sessions/conferances to find out the issues/barriers to sport. Also he would like to put on sport sessions around the exams.

11. Elite and Competitive Sport

Evan briefly explained that University teams are doing well in both their leagues and cup matches. There have been 2 teams to win their leagues so far, Netball and Ladies Basketball.
