The role is based in our friendly dynamic marketing and communications team.  This group of colleagues work closely with other teams to make a diverse mix of campaigns come to life.

Our graphic designers play a key role in driving the visual identity of our student orientated brand. We have a reputation for great quality visual outputs, and which includes lot of scope for innovation and new ideas. You will bring our diverse marketing campaigns to life, from print and digital design to video production. To get an idea of the kind of thing that you will be working on take a look at our website, everything from the Elections promotions, Graduation Ball campaign to the branding of the Union itself are undertaken by the marketing and communications team.

Your organised approach and high capacity to get projects done on time are paramount to the success of the organisation. Flexibility and adaptability are key, as you balance diverse projects with a fast paced work environment. You’ll need a keen eye for detail, and the ability to take responsibility for the timely production of collateral for a wide range of clients.

The Graphic Designers are also supervising the work of the Design Crew – a select group of student staff who work flexibly to balance the workflow of the department.

At some points in the year you will be involved in wider aspects of our campaigns, which could include speaking to visitors on open days, or helping to set up the building for the Freshers’ Fayre. We have a great team ethos in MarComms, people simply muck in and get things done.  You’ll find that working with students provides a really diverse range of opportunities - at the Union you won’t get bored; there will always be an exciting new project just around the corner.
