Thanks for putting in a You Make Change and your patience waiting for a reply. 

I have tried my best on this but regrettably there is not a lot that that can be done. Unfortunately as there are less students on campus it isn’t financial viable for SUSU to keep its buildings and facilities open during its regular term time hours.

On a related theme, after demand we have been trialing keeping the SUSU café open during the summer after the Shop has closed but there has been very low uptake on this and it has not been sustainable for SUSU to continue. If this shop trial offers any consolation it does show that with demand we can try new things but that high uptake of those trials would be necessary.

I have also explored if there was any possibility of us keeping Level One, with the climbing wall and squash courts, open longer after the rest of the building was shut. However, for safety reasons this is not possible.

I’m really sorry I couldn’t help more on this occasion, please don’t be disheartened and continue to write in with any more suggestions. I will always try my best for you.

Hi there,

Thank you for your You Make Change submission.

We are currently in the process of our handover to our new Sabbatical team for 2018/19 and therefore a reply will take slightly longer. This You Make change will be handed over to our new Vice President Sports when she officially starts in the role on Monday 1st July and a reply should follow shortly after.
