Would the University be able to offer support for international (EU) students returning to the UK for studies to reimburse the Covid tests and the mandatory "travel test package" in the UK?

These can get quite expensive, costing around £210 plus the price of the test done in own country.

Solent University Southampton has recently opened this fund for their students, and was wondering if our University can offer something similar?

Hi there,

Following your submission, I reached out to the University regarding financial support for the mandatory Covid tests. Please find their response below:

'We recognise the additional costs which some students have to cover when returning to the UK can exacerbate financial hardship for some. To help students we have taken the decision to include costs regarding Covid-19 testing within the Student Support Fund calculations so that students in financial difficult can access support. To apply for the Student Support Fund you can go to our website: https://www.southampton.ac.uk/studentservices/money-matters/student-support-fund/index.page/.'

I hope this answers your question,

Nicole
