Team Southampton Wins Varsity 2026

Team Southampton are VARSITY 2026 champions, lifting the trophy for the 15th time after holding their nerve through a dramatic Super Sunday. More than 1,300 players and spectators took part across 60+ fixtures in 34 sports, with crucial wins in Men’s Football and Tennis securing the points needed for victory.

We welcomed over 2,400 students to enjoy an evening of live music, fairground rides, and celebrating their last time on campus.

Redbrick Kitchen and Piazza saw nearly 700 of you over the evening! With the most popular food being pizza. We also saw the 27% of sales in our bars was vodka, making it your Grad Ball drink of choice!

Nearly 700 students were nominated for the Academic Awards

Team Southampton Sports Awards

Over 400 students attended, celebrating sporting achievements and recognising outstanding performances across the year.

You Are More Than

Exam season can be a stressful time for students, so we made sure they were fuelled and relaxed during this time.

Free Coffee

Free coffee and pastries and free soft drinks from The Stag’s gave students the pick-me-up they needed during exam season.

Give It A Go

Regular Yoga and Zumba Tasters ran throughout the month of May, ensuring students stayed active but calm outside of studying.

Sabbs on Tour

SUSU Sabbatical Officers went to various locations across campus ensuring students had the right resources and supprot for their exams.

Run For Sudan

Sudanese Society Treasurer Ahmed Mohammed led 10 runners in the Run for Sudan marathon, raising nearly £10,000 for humanitarian aid and construction projects in Sudan.

Indonesian Society

Collaborated with the Myanmar community across campus to deliver the Indonesian Culture Festival, selling tickets to a showcase of performances and traditional artefacts.

Sustainability @SUSU

Outer Avenue Street Party in Portswood

A great event with a strong turnout of students and locals, featuring food, activities, and live music from the SU Brass Band. Face painting and candy floss were popular throughout.

Taekwondo & Kickboxing Society

Held their first Points Fighter competition on 16th May, with an audience of 55. The event raised a total of £194 for their clubs.

Renter’s Reform

The Renters’ Rights Act is now in force/

You will no longer:

  • be locked into a 12 month contract
  • have rent increases that come out of nowhere
  • face “no-fault” evictions, as these have been removed
