The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert

Australian comedy starring Hugo Weaving, Guy Pearce and Terence Stamp. When Tick (Weaving) accepts a job offer to perform his drag act in Alice Springs, his friends Bernadette (Stamp) and Adam (Pearce) join him on the journey, which they undertake in a gaudy bus christened Priscilla. During the trip, their friendships are tested and they are subjected to homophobic abuse and violence but they also meet Bob (Bill Hunter), a kindly mechanic who joins them on their journey. As Bernadette and Bob grow closer, Tick has the chance to reconnect with his estranged family.

The Organisers

Union Films is your student-run cinema, right at the heart of Highfield Campus. Located in the Union, we're completely run by volunteers; from the from the front of house staff who sell tickets and refreshments, to the projectionists who show the films on our 35mm and digital projectors. You can help out as much or as little as you like, and when you do, you get to see films for free!
