Southampton University Darts Club (SUDC) is one of the University's largest sports clubs with over 130 members. We welcome players of all skill levels, from complete beginners to seasoned pros, there's a spot in SUDC for all! 

We have lots to offer as a club: 

  • Mondays 5pm - 9:30pm is our SUDC Premier League, 
  • Wednesday afternoons is when we play our inter-university league (UDUK)
  • Thursday evenings we host our teams tournament
  • Sunday 5pm-8pm we host our Conference (Development) League

The Committee

All clubs and societies within the Students' Union are run entirely by students. The student committee for Darts Club this year are:

Sam Lowe
President
  • The President is responsible for overseeing the club as a whole, ensuring it runs smoothly and successfully. They manage the committee, delegate tasks, and act as a financial signatory. The role involves planning and chairing meetings, maintaining the club calendar, and ensuring a smooth handover to the next committee. Additionally, the President is responsible for booking the annual Christmas Party and reviewing key documents such as risk assessments and the constitution to keep them up to date.

Treasurer
  • The Treasurer is responsible for managing the club’s finances, ensuring all expenditures and incomes are properly recorded. They act as a financial signatory and are in charge of applying for grants from SUSU. At the AGM, they present the annual financial review to ensure transparency. They also complete claim forms for any expenses and oversee the club’s overall financial health.

Men's Darts Captain
  • The Men’s and Women’s Darts Captains are responsible for organising UDUK fixtures, ensuring transport and venue bookings are arranged. They play a vital role in player welfare, supporting team members both on and off the oche. Additionally, they work closely with the Club Development Lead to ensure players receive the necessary support to thrive in the club.

Welfare Secretary
  • The Welfare Officer is responsible for supporting the wellbeing of all club members, acting as a point of contact for personal and interpersonal issues. They work closely with the committee to ensure a safe and welcoming environment, assisting the President when welfare concerns arise. The role includes monitoring member safety during socials, collaborating with the Social Secretary to identify anyone needing support, and ensuring a positive atmosphere at darting events alongside the Development and Tournament Secretaries. They will be the point of call for any issues that arise in the club and may have to talk to SUSU to deal with more serious issues.

Women's Darts Captain
  • The Men’s and Women’s Darts Captains are responsible for organising UDUK fixtures, ensuring transport and venue bookings are arranged. They play a vital role in player welfare, supporting team members both on and off the oche. Additionally, they work closely with the Club Development Lead to ensure players receive the necessary support to thrive in the club.
Andrew Lambert
Club Development Lead
  • The Club Development Lead focuses on improving all aspects of the club, identifying areas for growth and increasing engagement among members. They work closely with the Captains and President to provide the right support for players and ensure the club appeals to new members. They also take the lead in organising the Bunfight stall and coordinating advertisements to attract freshers. Additionally, they work alongside the Women’s Darts Captain to promote women’s darts through UDUK’s Project 57.
Drew Murphy
Social Media Secretary
  • The Media And Publicity Officer shall communicate the Group’s activities to Members and the Students’ Union on social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok.
Dylan Butterworth
Social Secretary
  • The Social Secretary(s) shall provide social and cultural pursuits for the Group’s Members on a smaller scale, such as nights out. They shall also support, and be supported by, the Social Media Secretary in the promotion and maintenance of the overall Group ethos. A maximum of two Social Secretaries may be appointed.

Social Secretary
  • The Social Secretary is in charge of planning and running regular socials to foster a strong sense of community within the club. They ensure that events cater to both drinking and non-drinking members, making sure everyone feels included. They also look out for members' welfare during socials, helping to maintain a fun and safe environment. Additionally, they create engaging posts to promote events and encourage participation.

Tour Secretary
  • The Tour Secretary is responsible for organising the club’s tour abroad in April 2026, ensuring that all travel plans and activities are well-organised and covered by the necessary insurance. They handle tour payments through the club account or any other appropriate means, complete risk assessments, and plan a range of activities and social events to make the tour a success.
Tommy Alcroft
Tournament Secretary
  • The Tournament Secretary is responsible for organising and running all intra-club tournaments, ensuring at least three major events per semester. They oversee the club’s Order of Merit, allocating points appropriately and managing rankings. They ensure rooms are booked, game timings are scheduled effectively, and events run smoothly. The role involves opening venues, collecting keys, setting up, and ensuring timely match progression. They also manage tournament information through platforms like Google Sheets, Spond, and WhatsApp. If unavailable, they must delegate responsibilities to another committee or club member. Additionally, they help oversee the club calendar, assist with the SUSU admin page, and collaborate with the Welfare Secretary to ensure a safe playing environment. They are also responsible for applying for all of the club’s block bookings in late summer.
Daniel Howard
Vice President
  • The Vice President supports the President and assumes their duties in their absence. They play a key role in maintaining and expanding sponsorship opportunities for the club and are responsible for organising and distributing club kit. As a financial signatory, they also assist in managing the club's funds. Other key responsibilities include taking minutes at meetings and organising charity events to support the club’s community outreach (at minimum one major charity event per year).

Membership Information

These are the current membership fees offered by Darts Club, although many clubs and societies offer a free period for new members to try out their activities.
