Why vote for Nichole Jessup?

The VP Education and Democracy role at SUSU speaks to me greatly as I have spent the three years of my undergraduate degree working towards creating a better learning environment for myself and my peers. I was the academic representative for Psychology in my first and second years and I took on the responsibility of Psychology School president in my third and final year. I believe that because of this experience, I am not only prepared and ready to take on a bigger role with more responsibility, but I am also in the beneficial position of understanding the system between students and SUSU at the university already.

I am passionate about education and have always wanted to be involved at the university. If elected I will continue to be passionate about the academic representation system as I have been over the past few years, I will amplify the voice of the students by maintaining good communication and feedback streams with the students and I will ensure that every student, regardless of their demographics feel heard and that they have a place at the university.

I am familiar with the process of attending meetings with the university and negotiating on the part of students, I will advocate for the best student experience and represent the academic interests of students in my full capacity. My aim as VP of Education and Democracy would be to continue my commitment to the students of this university as I have done since the beginning of my time at Southampton, and to ensure that you feel supported, heard, and recognised.
