Key Points

  • Ensuring all students feel valued
  • Continuing the tight knit community feel
  • Being a bridge between students and staff
  • Passionate about the future of the department
  • Highlighting the changes to improve student experience

Previously completing my Undergraduate degree within the Economic, Social and Political Science School has allowed me to maintain my long-standing relationships with staff and within the university as a whole. I believe this puts me in a good position to become a bridge between student and staff for both undergraduate and postgraduate taught students. Throughout my undergraduate degree, I had contact with the student representative for my year and course, putting forward any problems faced by myself and peers, as well as offering advice for areas which we felt could use improvement.

I hope to become more involved within the department throughout my Master's study, aspiring to do my PhD here in the future, as such I feel very passionate about the department and its future. the friendships made amongst students and staff make this department feel like a little family, and I hope to continue this tight knit feeling for all involved here.

I have already started making an impact within my course, initiating the Postgraduates SSPC Facebook group page, whilst also being an active member on the wider SSPC page. despite being in the SSPC faculty, i have also helped within the Economics faculty, providing campus tours for a few first year students. I look forward to being a familiar face for all students within the department.
