As Department President for Film Studies, my main goal is to be one of the key student representatives for the Film programme.  Within this role, I will take on managing our programme’s department, communicating with Course Representatives and listening to the student body.

Previously having been in this position, I have implemented various actions that benefitted the film sector. For instance, I have given suggestions on different modules so that students can learn the material in a more effective manner, increasing their enjoyment. I have also proposed different methods to increase lecture and seminar attendance rates. Additionally, I have experience in other leadership positions within the First Aid Society and Christian Union.

During my role, I immensely enjoyed the position and if I had the opportunity to do it again, I will continue to input further improvements for the Film programme.  I will continue to listen to the study body throughout the year and make changes that cater toward student needs. I will also work with student leaders and professors to host more events around campus.

I am running for the Film Department President because I am constantly looking for a challenge. I believe that this role is an opportunity for me to continue growing and improving in various skills. Through this role, I will learn how to present my thoughts and pitch ideas more effectively to faculty members. I believe that I will make an excellent Department President for Film Studies and the student body is in good hands.
