Key Points

  • closing the attainment gap between black students and their counterparts
  • Promoting more fun and cultural experiences on campus
  • Ensure all races and cultures feel valued
  • Wheel out ignorance and educate the university about diverse cultures
  • Providing a platform for Bame students to comfortably share concerns

As the President of the African Caribbean society, I believe that my network with minority ethnics goes far and wide. As a result, I am not only able to reach a large number of black students but also, I can get in touch with the number of other cultural societies such as the Punjabi society, the Nepalese society, the Filipino society, the Ghana society and many more, allowing me to understand their views and interests. By gaining such an understanding, I will be able to represent, and promote the views and interests of these students effectively.  Due to my kind and innovative nature I will be able to efficiently convey the concerns and desires of the people to the members of the student union that I will be working with and bring forth answers and solutions. The skills I have learnt during the course of my law degree will allow me to litigate my points coherently and solve potentially complex problems that minority ethics face.
