As the new president of the Economics society, I am passionate about bringing new opportunities and collaborations with different departments to economics. I place the core values of inclusivity, diversity, and passion to drive forward our progress and impact as a society. Alongside this I am currently taking the position of Vice President of Engagement for Enactus Southampton. In this role I bridge the gap between students and our business advisors and believe I can do the same between our student representatives, the University and Economics students. Within my roles, I am proactive in creating positive change for students by encouraging networking events and professional development workshops. I aim to increase my reach and bring life into the economics department by inspiring creativity and a workplace in which we can learn together. By doing so I am prioritising my focus on increasing engagement and opportunities within economics. As I am coming into my third year of studying Economics and know what it is like to need that extra support, I am hoping to be a figure that both students and course representatives to come to alike. During my time at Southampton, I have built an in-depth knowledge of the economics course, teaching methods and general life as an economics student. As a result of this, I am able to critically evaluate and make judgement on suggestions for improvements and even offer new solutions to problems withing the department.
