Give It a Go: International Flag Painting (Postponed)

Our flag painting events are postponed until further notice. Paint your national flag on our giant canvas! We will be at Avenue, WSA and Highfield campuses for you to take part in creating our canvas of all nations. All materials provided. Free event, no booking required.

Sikh Society Langar

Monday 13 March, 18:30 - 21:00, Garden Court B40: To kick off this year's SUSU Culture Festival, Sikh Society will be hosting Langar on campus. Everyone is welcome to join and enjoy the food together! Langar was created by the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev Ji in the 1500s. It is free food available to everyone at any time, regardless of their gender, race or religion. Free event, no booking required.

Persian Society Fire Festival

Tuesday 14 March, 18:00 - 23:00, Redbrick: Persian Society are hosting their annual Fire Festival! The history of the event goes back to ancient Persian beliefs, and Iranians still celebrate this ancient event by jumping over an odd number of bonfires on the last Tuesday night of the year before the beginning of the New Year in Spring. There will be music, food and drinks alongside the fire jump. Come along and join in the festivities! Free event, no booking required.

Tuesday 14 March, 19:00 - 22:00, Brewhouse & Kitchen: How much do you know about the Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American culture? Come join us for the SLAPS Pub Quiz to find out! We will quiz you on some of the most characteristic traditions, a variety of different topics including geography, history and entertainment… you can’t miss this one, see you there! Tickets £2.

Wednesday 15 March, 13:00 - 17:00, SUSU B42: Join Chinese Students & Scholars Association for a Mahjong Taster Session! You will be able to register for one session (either 13:00 - 15:30 or 15:30 - 17:00) and play a few games against other students. Free event, booking required.

Wednesday 15 March, 18:30 - 22:00, Turner Sims: Presented by University of Southampton Indian Society, the APNA show (aka the Asian Personality Nomination Awards) is a grand awards show filled with performances, hosts and hilarious awards. Tickets £11.

Indian Society Malang Holi Festival

Thursday 16 March, 14:00, Grass area outside B40: This year during SUSU Culture festival, Holi, the most anticipated colour festival, is back in Southampton! Come celebrate Holi with Indian Society, featuring DJ Shiny spinning some of the hottest tracks. Make sure that you bring your friends, flatmates, and classmates to the festival to celebrate. Friday 17 March, 14:00 - 16:00, SUSU B42: Join us for a Henna Tattoo Experience Session hosted in collaboration with the Pakistan Society! Immerse yourself in the ancient art of henna, a traditional form of body art that has been a significant part of Pakistani culture for generations. Our henna artists will guide you through the process of choosing a design that reflects your unique personality and style. Free event, booking required.

Friday 17 March, 14:30 - 16:30, Redbrick: A random play dance is a Korean dance challenge that usually takes place in public where random K-pop songs are played and people are able to come to the front to dance the choreography. This is a popular dance challenge that takes place frequently around the world including London. Free event.
