Finding the right housemates can have a big effect on your university experience. SUSU’s Housemate Finder is here to help you meet other people who are also looking for a house, or to find people to fill your spare rooms.
Before getting started, consider:
- Is signing a contract to rent a house, most likely for 12 months, the best choice for you in the current circumstances? If you would like some advice in this area, please contact the Advice Centre on advice@susu.org

I’m looking for someone to take over my tenancy at BlueBox as soon as possible, as I’m living at home this year and no longer need accommodation in Southampton. The studio is a modern, self-contained space with a private en-suite bathroom (not a wet room, it has a proper shower), double bed, and a fully equipped kitchenette including a stove, microwave-oven, and fridge. The rent is £650 per month, and Wi-Fi (with Ethernet access) is included at no extra cost. The location is excellent, the building is right next to Aldi (save so much on groceries) , bus stop right outside, around 20 minutes bus ride to Highfield Campus, and 15 minutes from the city centre. It’s also near Sobar, The Hobbit, and Jesters offering easy access to nightlife while still being very quiet inside the flat. This is a great opportunity for someone wanting a clean, comfortable, private studio in a prime student area. The tenancy can begin as soon as you’re ready. I’ve had a really great experience living here, and the only reason I’m leaving is because I’ll be living at home at home for the year.

Hi, I’ve lived in this student flat for a year and both my flatmates are doing a year abroad so I’m looking to replace them. The house is 328b Burgess Road, SO16 3BJ, which is a few house up from the McDonald's at the bottom of the road. It is a handy 20 minute walk from Highfiled campus, with plenty of grocery shops nearby. A bedroom with a single bed at roughly £410 per month (ex. bills) is currently available. This ad previously mentioned two rooms, but someone has already contacted me about one of them and so I've updated the ad accordingly. The house has a toilet downstairs and a bathroom upstairs, and we keep the house pretty tidy in general.
